URINETOWN -- AT SOUTHWEST

I've seen Urinetown, two times, I think.

I would call it -- an important piece of work.

If you haven't seen it -- I recommend you see it.   It's showing this week at Southwest.

Urinetown -- is about Power.   Abuse of Power.   Taxation.   Current Events, you might say.

And Southwest High School does -- extraordinarily good work.   Seriously, this is your chance to see good work.  On a live stage.  That you can walk to.   Air conditioning --

Let's go to the theater --

:-)

  • In the not-so-distant future, a terrible water shortage and a 20-yr drought has led to a government ban on private toilets and a proliferation of paid public toilets, operated by a single megalomaniac company. If the poor don't obey the strict laws they are sent to the dreaded "Urinetown." Finally, a brave young hero leads a revolt to pee "wherever you like, whenever you like, for as long as you like, and with whomever you like." Urinetown is a wickedly funny, fast-paced and intelligent comedic romp!
